A FARMERS ’ Market was launched in Cobham on Saturday, September 16 and will be held every third Saturday in the month thereafter. The market,on the Leg O ’Mutton Field in Downside Bridge Road,is the result of months of negotiation between Surrey Chambers - which already runs the highly successful Epsom Farmers ’ Market -Elmbridge Borough Council and the Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust.

Carolyne Taylor, Surrey Chambers Regional Manager for the Elmbridge Region, said: Like many villages Cobham has been faced with major development,and the local tradespeople feel there is an urgent need to re-vitalise Cobham as a community.

Surrey Chambers represents businesses of all sizes and we have proved in Epsom that Farmers ’ Markets can double the normal footfall. I look forward to working with the Cobham Conservation and Heritage Trust to ensure this new venture is a great success.

Market trading has doubled the normal footfall in Epsom and it is hoped it can do the same in Cobham.
